Alabama BBQ Company uses a traditional cooking-style (smoke) and combines it with innovative flavorings (sweet heat). We call it innovative because most people don't associate fruit with BBQ. We found the natural sweetness of fruit harmonizes perfectly with smoky "Q".
We use only hardwood lump charcoal (heat) and BBQ wood logs (smoke). Meats are cooked using the "low & slow" method - low temperatures (under 275 F) for long periods (up to 12 hours). Because BBQ is an art and an imprecise science, results often vary from day to day (the Boss notices but you won't).
The name, Alabama BBQ Company, was chosen because our founder is a native Alabaman. Few people know the style "Alabama BBQ" signifies a white sauce used on BBQ chicken. We thought it was a perfect anomaly for our traditional yet innovative-approach to BBQ.
By expanding people's ideas of BBQ, Alabama BBQ Company is positioning itself (branding) apart from its competition and as a driving force in the segment - try to find another BBQ joint in the Mid-Atlantic Region featuring BBQ Nachos, BBQ Burgers, Smoked Duck, Big Al's Tuna, Million Dollar Beef Tenderloin, Smoked Chicken Wings, "C-4" Smoked Chicken Chowder, "Bamalaya", "Y'all Hush" Corn Muffins, Big Al's Blackened Salmon and "Red Hot" Apple Sauce.
